About Us

The History Behind Auto Clinic of Rockford Inc

In 1982, Paul Stauffer had an idea for an auto repair business that would serve the Rockford community with integrity, high levels of
customer service and using the most current technology. The Auto Clinic began operation on Rockford’s west side in the Zatrell Body Shop.

In 1984, the Stauffer family moved the Auto Clinic to Marathon Station on 1st Avenue and 6th Street. Finally in 1992, they built the current Auto Clinic at 4109 E State Street. In 2007, the torch was passed on to Paul’s eldest son Brad and his wife Jenny to continue the company’s excellent reputation within the community.

The Way We Run Our Auto Business

The Auto Clinic of Rockford Inc operates on one basic principle and that is, “Treat every customer the way we would like to be treated. Being honest, understanding and by standing behind the quality work of our ASE Master-Certified technicians.”
We understand that it can be stressful and frustrating to deal with unexpected auto repairs. That's why we do all we can to get your vehicle back on the road as soon as possible. We will explain or show you what your vehicle repair involves, give you any alternatives available and try our best to do the job at a reasonable cost.

Nationwide Networking and Community Involvement

Auto Clinic Of Rockford Inc is proud to be a NAPA Auto Care Center, now a Bosch Service Center as well. This allows us to be part of a nationwide network of quality independent repair facilities.

Being in this network offers us the most up-to-date training in the latest automotive repair capabilities and numerous resources, as well as support to better service our customers. We're also able to offer special WARRANTIES and financing to our customer as a result of our association with these organizations.

We have been a long time member of the Automotive Service Association (ASA). This is an important national organization that helps independent shops like ours to have the resources that come from the auto manufacturers. By being part of this organization, we operate by a code of ethics that benefits you, the consumer.

We're also active members of the Miracle Mile, which is a local organization working together with the City of Rockford to improve our area through input from concerned residents and business owners. Find out more about this organization on their website.
In the past, we have sponsored various youth athletic programs, local schools, and non-profit organizations, and we would continue the same in the future. We feel these organizations are great assets to our community and to the people and children who participate in them.
